Residence life professionals and senior housing officers are navigating a pivotal and painful chapter in U.S. higher education. As campuses contend with tightening financial resources, rising political hostility, and legislative action that directly threatens inclusion, access, and even institutional existence, senior housing officers are uniquely positioned at the crossroads of care, crisis, and leadership. Charged with shaping living environments that foster learning and belonging, we are called to do more with less—while supporting students, professional staff, and campus communities through unprecedented strain.

Join Trish Godino Loring (she/her), Director of Residence & Student Life at NHTI, and Kris "knp" Nolan-Parker (they/them), Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at Franklin Pierce University for this reflective and discussion-based session invites senior housing leaders to pause and engage in collective reflection rooted in care, honesty, and resilience.

This session isn’t just about solutions—it’s about solidarity. Together, we will explore the emotional, ethical, and practical realities of leading residence life teams during a time when so many forces are working against the core values of higher education. Bring your stories, strategies, and questions as we reflect, regroup, and remember that we are not alone in this work. This is a space to recommit to our people and our purpose—despite, and because of, the storms we face.
